LIQUOR LICENCE MERCHANTS' ASSOCIATION

The Liquor Licence Merchants' Association (LLMA) is an association which looks after the interests of all liquor licence holders. Membership of Liquorwise qualifies a licence holder for membership of the LLMA. The association was created for the following main reasons:

1. The greatest number of liquor licence holders do not have representation as a group of business persons with similar interests;
2. Licence holders act and react on an individual basis when it would most often be advantageous to act or react as a group;
3. National Legislation requires that licence holders belong to an association which prescribes to certain goals and milestones and involves the following, eg.
   1. BEE compliance (most licence holders are exempt)
   2. Prevention and treatment of alcoholism
   3. Prevention and treatment of pre-natal alcohol syndrome;
4. Licence holders are not kept up to date with changes in policy, guidelines and legislation;

Membership is free, subject to a member being the holder of a valid liquor licence.
