LIQUOR LICENCE MERCHANTS' ASSOCIATION
The Liquor Licence Merchants' Association (LLMA) is an association which looks after the interests
of all liquor licence holders. Membership of Liquorwise qualifies a licence holder for membership of the LLMA.
The association was created for the following main reasons:
- The greatest number of liquor licence holders do not have representation
as a group of business persons with similar interests;
- Licence holders act and react on an individual basis when it would most
often be advantageous to act or react as a group;
- National Legislation requires that licence holders belong to an association which prescribes to certain goals and milestones and involves the following, eg.
- BEE compliance (most licence holders are exempt)
- Prevention and treatment of alcoholism
- Prevention and treatment of pre-natal alcohol syndrome;
- Licence holders are not kept up to date with changes in policy, guidelines and legislation;
Membership is free, subject to a member being the holder of a valid liquor licence.
